Bio

 

Crystal Cameron joined NBC 29 in May of 2006 as the morning co-anchor.
Crystal has played a pivotal role in political coverage for NBC29 for the past three years.  Crystal covered the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama live from Washington.  During the 2008 election cycle, Crystal sat down with both VP candidates and was the only reporter in Virginia to get an exclusive interview with Governor Sarah Palin prior to the election.  Crystal also covered the 2006 U.S. Senate race between Jim Webb and George Allen.  That race ultimately shifted the balance of power in Congress.

Before moving to Charlottesville, Crystal worked as the weekend anchor and investigative reporter for WMBB in Panama City Beach, Florida.  

While living along the Gulf Coast of Florida, Crystal covered the destruction of Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and Hurricane Dennis in 2005.

Before she began her on-air career, Crystal worked as an Assistant Producer for WESH, the NBC affiliate in Orlando, Florida.
Crystal began her news career in Daytona Beach, Florida as a co-host for a political talk show on WNDB radio.
Crystal graduated from University of Central Florida in May of 2001 with a degree in Political Science and Mass Communications.

Crystal serves on the planning board for the Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, she also volunteers with Relay for Life, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the March of Dimes and the Children’s Miracle Network.

In her spare time, Crystal enjoys cooking, traveling, wine tasting, reading and working out.  

Crystal was born in Framingham, Massachusetts.  She is a huge BoSox and Patriots fan!
